The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations.
And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
But ye shall be named the Priests of the LORD: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves.
For your shame ye shall have double; and for confusion they shall rejoice in their portion: therefore in their land they shall possess the double: everlasting joy shall be unto them.
For I the LORD love judgment, I hate robbery for burnt offering; and I will direct their work in truth, and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
And their seed shall be known among the Gentiles, and their offspring among the people: all that see them shall acknowledge them, that they are the seed which the LORD hath blessed.
- Isaiah 61:1-9
God is a God of purpose and when He empowers people, He does so to enable them fulfil some definite aspects of His overall agenda. When things go wrong and when there are ruins and desolations, God sends solutions in the form of men. Are there situations around you; in your neighbourhood; in your community or nation that are not the best they ought to be? You can lift up your hands and praise God for He has sent solutions to those situations already. The answer God has sent is you. Stop blaming the government, leaders, teachers and parents for whatever is out of order around you. The Dominion Mandate places upon you the responsibility to take up the challenge and remedy the ugly situations around you. Prophet Isaiah had you in mind when he said, “And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations” (Isaiah 61:4).
Up to this moment, you have grossly underutilised the resources God has placed inside you. Because you have lived in this complacency for so long, you have become accustomed to thinking small and making small plans. This must change, now that you know who you are in Christ. God is still in the business of creating and doing mighty things. Jesus is still in the business of doing good and restoring things that are out of order. The Holy Spirit is still at work in and around you. Live everyday with the understanding that you are the instrument Jesus will use to continue His work of doing good and bringing healing and restoration on earth.
• Submit yourself to God as a willing and available vessel ready to be used whenever and wherever.
Heaven’s resources have been placed at my disposal; I am God’s solution to today’s challenges.
