But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
- 1 Corinthians 2:9-16
That life is miserable which is lived outside day to day guidance and direction from God. The one that lives so can be likened to a person searching for a thing while surrounded by the pitch-darkness. In attempting to move forward, he stumbles over many things that shouldn’t have been obstacles to his movement. In trying to locate what he is searching for, he pushes things out of their orderly positions and causes breakages and damages. Quite often, his blinded search and numerous falls inflict on him wounds and fractures and could even bring his untimely death.
It is my prayer that you are not engulfed in the situation described above. It is a dangerous thing to live your life without tapping constant revelation and guidance from God. If you have Christ in you and you fail in this life, you can never put the blame on God. This is because you carry inside you the same wisdom and power that created the universe and sustains it in perfect position and functionality unto this day. The day you received Christ, you received the power, wisdom, strength, riches, honour, blessing and glory of God (Revelation 5:12). This is reaffirmed in our passage today which says in verse 12, “Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”
You activate and sustain the wisdom of God in your life through worship, prayer, fasting and sacrificial giving. Beyond money, you can also give your time and talent. Uniting with God in worship and in service throws open to you the infinite grace, wisdom, favour and provisions of God. As you incline your heart and mind towards serving God, the mind of Christ in you will guide you to greater glory, blessing and honour.
Pray for understanding of who you are in Christ.
The God of all creation lives in me. He has empowered me to create like He does.
