Bible in one year: Luke 19-20
Wisdom rests in the heart of him who has understanding, but what is in the heart of fools is made known. The king’s favor is toward a wise servant, But his wrath is against him who causes shame.- (Prov. 14:33 & 35)
In life some individuals usually get things done easily, while others struggle to get the same things. The difference between these two persons is FAVOUR. The ones who get things easily done without much ado, operate in favour. Somehow they have found their way to favour, having obtained it and are operating in it. One of the ways to tap into that grace is acquiring WISDOM.
The scripture says in Proverbs that "A servant who deals wisely will rule over a son who acts shamefully and will share the inheritance as one of the brothers" - (Prov. 17:2).
Sometimes those in the lowest position end up having the greatest influence because they are wise. Joseph, an excellent example of this, was sold as a slave into Potiphar’s house in Egypt by his brothers. His sojourn in Egypt saw him at Potiphar’s house and then in the prison but the fruit of wisdom was evident when because of his wise and godly counsel he found favour in Pharaoh's sight and he ended up being made a Prime Minister in the land of his slavery.
Wisdom provokes favour which endears you to the masses. King Solomon attracted Kings from far and near, even female admirers because he was endowed with such wisdom as never had been seen before his time. When the Bible says in Isaiah 60:3 that ‘…Kings will come to your rising…’, one ingredients that will make that happen with ease is WISDOM.
Most great men love to have a person of wise conduct around because they provide fine counsel contribute positively to the lives of everyone around them. Wisdom talking of herself said ‘…Blessed is the man who listens to me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoever finds me finds life, and obtains favor from the Lord.’ – (Proverbs 8:34-35).
Wisdom will earn you favour, just as it earned Daniel favour with all the kings of his time. Wisdom will not only earn you favour with men, it will as well earn you favour with God.
Father thank youpfor your gracious promise to give wisdom generously to whoever lacks it. In faith, I claim that promise for myself today and I ask that you help me to be humble and teachable, willing to ask for and receive counsel from others in Jesus name. Amen!
