And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. And suddenly there was a great earthquake so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.
Back on the topic of praise and thanksgiving, we see above that as Paul and Silas praised God and worshipped despite their circumstances, they had God move on their behalf.
That is the power that praise has. When we praise God, even for the things He hasn’t done, we challenge Him to go into operation for us for He will not take the glory for something He hasn’t done.
When your whole world looks as if it is falling down around you, when you don’t know where the next meal will come from, when you are at the end of all hope, that’s not the time to give up, rather, that is the time to break into praise and see God move mightily on your behalf. Praise is a mighty weapon of warfare that we can deploy when all hope seems gone.
King Jehoshaphat deployed this weapon against the enemies of Israel and the enemies helped to destroy each other. So don’t ever think you are alone or that there’s nothing to be done in your circumstances. Break out in praise and see God move mightily for you.
Are you weary with issues of life? Has God done something deserving of your praise? Are you expecting anything from God in this season? If yes, then give God quality praise and dance offering beyond measure in anticipation of His move on your behalf.
