Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints; – Ephesians 6:10-18
You have won comprehensive victory over the devil, not because of what you have done or what you could do, but on account of the victory Christ won over the adversary on the cross of Calvary. Jesus took your debts and the penalty you would have paid for your iniquities and bore them upon His body on the cross. He took your sins and put on you His righteousness. He took your shame and put on you His glory. He took your sickness and put on you His divine nature that cannot be sick. He took your poverty and put on you His riches in glory. “For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich” (2 Corinthians 8:9).
Many do not comprehend what spiritual warfare is all about. Because the scripture says, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers…” they engage the devil as if in a practical wrestling contest.
To correct this misconception, Van Raheenen wrote as follows: “Spiritual warfare is not about fighting Satan; he has been defeated by the triumphal resurrection of Jesus Christ. Spiritual warfare rather is standing firm in Christ’s mighty power; it is accepting God’s victory through Christ by faith and allowing God’s redemptive power to work through Christ.” Stand firm; resist the devil and enforce your victory. Your warfare has been accomplished and you have the victory.
Plead the blood of Jesus over your life, your home and your interests.
Uproot everything that God did not plant in your life. Bind all agents of darkness and destroy their works.
On the basis of Christ’s finished work at Calvary, I have comprehensive victory over the devil always.
