Therefore seeing we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we faint not; But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
2 Corinthians 4:1-7
One of the greatest mistakes you will ever make is to think that the present situation of your life is all that God has planned for you. Whether you are doing very well already, or you are barely managing to scratch out a living, God has made amazing provisions for you that you are yet to open up and tap into. His word in Jeremiah 29:11 remains ever true, and that word is delivered directly to you. For I know the plans I have for you, says the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. God has made great plans for your life and you must continue to look up to Him in hope to bring His promises to pass.
Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.”* His view is also shared by Harriet Tubman who said, *“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.”
Apostle Paul drives home the same point when he said in 2 Cor. 4:7- *But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
God has deposited something special, something precious and something costly inside you. But you are the one that must dig it out, refine and polish it; and present it to your generation as your contribution towards making the world a better place. You require discipline and dedication to do so. Jim Rohn said, “Success is nothing more than a few simple disciplines, practiced every day.” Begin now to dig out, through prayer and diligent work, the treasures God has deposited inside you.
PRAYER: Ask the Holy Spirit to help you discover yourself.
CONFESSION: I am loaded with precious gifts and treasures. I will attain the heights God has planned for me.
